Adventures 2015 - 2016

In November of 2015 I made a successful crossing of South Georgia Island on back country cross country skis. The expedition was organized by an American company named Polar Explorers and nine people were in that expedition. The crossing took four days and we followed the same route that Sir Ernest Shackleton took when he made his epic crossing of the island 100 years earlier. The crossing began at King Haakon Bay and finished up at the abandoned whaling station at Stromness. We sailed from Puerto Madryn in Argentina to reach South Georgia Island stopping at the Falkland Islands en route. The ship sailed back to Ushuaia in Argentina to complete the trip.

In August 2016 I climbed to the summit of Mount Khuiten. It is 4375 metres, [14,350] feet high and it is the tallest mountain in Mongolia. The summit is only two miles from both the Russian and the Chinese borders. The expedition took nine days and there were nine people in the party. An American company named Alpine Ascents International organized the trip. After finishing my travels in Mongolia I flew to Japan and I hiked to the summit of Mount Fuji which is the tallest mountain in Japan. It is 3,776 metres, [12,388 feet] in elevation.
